We love to hear about the progress of our Grants in Place across the country – and this fall we are getting some fantastic stories from the Dakotas, where RSC and Dakota Resources have partnered in the “Growing Better Together” Grants in Place program.
In McIntosh, South Dakota, LaKisha Jordan, family and consumer science teacher at McIntosh High School, has led a student-centered effort in her classroom that promotes local foods and how to prepare them in a healthy, delicious and nutritious manner.
She and her students have titled the initiative, Unboxed! which aims to encourage and educate students and families about the benefits of local food sources. The program is summarized on the home page of the website.
