Dakota State University hosted an event that recognized the talents and big plans of a group of tech-savvy teenagers.
The DSU gathering was held for female high school students from across South Dakota and two from North Dakota who are interested in technology and computing. The event provided the setting for the National Center for Women and Information Technology to present its awards for Aspirations in Computing.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard attended the event held in DSU's Habeger Science Center and was introduced by Dr. Jose-Marie Griffiths, DSU president. Daugaard told the audience that one favorite part of his job as the state's chief executive centers on meeting people, including young South Dakotans.
