Most small towns preserve their history – one story at a time. Union County Electric, an electric cooperative in Elk Point, SD, decided to become more active in preserving the town’s history by financing the Historical Society. The Historical Society was able to buy a 6.7-acre site in Elk Point, SD, where they have a museum, visitor center, and interpretive center. With the ability to preserve history and educate future generations, Elk Point will be able to pass on incredible stories about life on the frontier. Read about them here, http://ow.ly/Nt6f303JepD.
