Watertown, S.D.   – Terex Utilities, a leading manufacturer of equipment for the global electric utility industry based in Watertown, S.D., has announced plans to consolidate its Watertown manufacturing operations into a single state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

Located on a 55-acre site near 15th Avenue SE in Watertown, S.D., the new facility will house main assembly, fiberglass, paint, and installation under one roof. Here, Terex Utilities will build its aerial devices, digger derricks, and auger drills.

“Terex Utilities is a core business in Terex Corporation’s portfolio,” said John Garrison, President and CEO. “This investment will allow the company to respond to customer needs with a new facility that simplifies operations, drives better performance, and provides a work environment that will not only attract top talent, but will be a place where people can build long-term careers in manufacturing.”

“Terex is a globally recognized and trusted company, and it fits well into South Dakota’s business culture, so I’m pleased to hear its decision to reinvest in South Dakota,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “Terex is the sort of company that, when given the opportunity to expand or relocate, can do it just about anywhere around the globe. This reinvestment benefits Terex employees, the Watertown community, the State and the entire region at large.”
